GCash, or GCash by Alipay, is a Philippine smartphone wallet, digital transfer, and branchless banking facility; it was first presented in 2004. Owned by Mynt, a joint venture between Ant Group, an offshoot of the Alibaba Group, Ayala Group of Firms, one of the significant commercial conglomerates in the Philippines, and Globe Telecom, one of the country’s giant telecommunications corporations. GCash is listed under 917 Ventures on the Globe side. It had more than 60 million monthly active users as of May 2022.
Customers can use GCash to pay their bills, transfer money, top up their mobile phone credits, and purchase both online and in-person. Customers can load funds at MoneyGram, Western Union, or participating stores to fill their GCash wallet with mobile banking, cards, PayPal, or other payment methods. You can get it from Google Play and App Store.
If you have a mobile phone number registered on one of the local mobile networks in the Philippines, you can start a GCash account from abroad. GCash MasterCard can be used wherever MasterCard is accepted so you can use your mobile wallet outside of the country. As a safe, reliable, and secure app that links to your phone number, it is accessible from anywhere at any time, without being restricted to a certain location.
